The countdown to next week's BC Care Providers Association Annual Conference and General Meeting in Whistler is on. Care providers, sponsors and exhibitors will start arriving at the Chateau Whistler this Sunday for two and a half days of networking and sharing of best practices for seniors care. The theme of this year's event is "A Better Way"". In advance of the conference, BCCPA released its 2010-2011 Annual Report to delegates and members.
Among others things, the Report provides a look back at the successes of the past year and a recap of the progress that has been made on the Associations, Action Plan and the two policy resolutions that were passed unanimously at last year's AGM by BCCPA members related to staff safety and the Healthcare Benefit Trust. Three policy resolutions are expected to be presented for discussions at this year's Conference focused on:
- improvements to the BC Care Aide Registry
- seniors waiting in acute care hospital wards
- reallocation of new provincial client user fees
