"Significant source of stress": survey
By Canwest News Service
Looking after Mom and Dad can take a taxing mental and emotional toll on a generation of Canadians who are also trying to raise their own families, a new survey suggests.
The online survey looked at the so-called Sandwich Generation, adults who have children but are also helping to care for their aging parents.
Thirteen per cent of respondents in the Desjardins Financial Security survey said they were helping their parents with their "domestic" and "psychological" needs.
Another seven per cent said they were chipping in financially.
