BCCPA has been working closely with the provincial government to help establish Canada's first Care Aide and Community Health Worker Registry. Since the Registry was introduced in January, close to 25,000 workers have signed up.
The April 28, 2010 deadline to "grandfather" current care aides and community health workers has been extended to June 28 and the Registry's website (www.cachwr.bc.ca) has been updated to include a number of new features, including:
- single application and consent form for care aides, community health workers & new graduates
- an employer "log-off" button for when you have finished searching for a particular worker
- an employer abuse reporting form is now available in the "Employer Information" section of the site
