Health Minister Kevin Falcon introduced a new schedule of client user fees yesterday at a news conference in Victoria. The BC Care Providers Association (BCCPA) was quick to respond on behalf of its members and the seniors they serve.
Today, BCCPA has been in contact with officials from the Minister's office and the Ministry today to get more details on the announcement. More specifically BCCPA is discussing the Ministry's plan to allocate the $54 million in new revenue the government hopes to secure from this new initiative. We have made it clear to the government that if they do proceed with this rate change, these funds must be reinvested back to front line care and increased staffing.
BCCPA will present an update on these discussions with the government to members at their upcoming workshop series which starts next week in Richmond.
