Attached for your information is a copy of an Audit Tool on Reprocessing of Medical Equipment that one of our members in Vancouver Coastal Health Authority recently underwent.
We are bringing this to the intention of all our members and ask you to notify us if your Health Authority is considering a similar audit.
This is a new tool and audit process and there had not been any prior notification of the audit procedure and under what jurisdiction it was being implemented. According to VCHA the audit is a result of a federal initiative.
You may wish to consider self audits of medical and equipment cleaning and or review your policies in this area. We will follow up with the Health Authorities to get more information regarding these audits.
